 How lucky we are to be able to experience the unconditional love of a pet.  Whether it's a new member of your family that you've rescued from the shelter or an old friend that just wants to hang out on the swing, their love and loyality never waivers. 

You always have to remember though, a dog needs leadership and if you aren't giving it to him, he's going to take the role and that doesn't make for a very good relationship.

Hush Puppy NJ was established out of necessity for my own two beagles. When I inherited them they were horrible.  Begging while I was making dinner, begging at the dinner table, dashing through the door to the point that I would trip over them, barking at guests who knocked on our door, bullying my cats, demanding I treat them every time I was in the kitchen....it wasn't a fun time in our house when they showed up.  I started asking my family and friends about their pets and they were having the same problems.  I was very surprised at how many people were having the same problem I was.  So now I am proactive, which kept me from being reactive to my problematic pooches.          

Also, alot of us love to put human traits on our pets and to a degree, we're right. Pets feel emotion, maybe not exactly like a human, but they can mourn, they get very excited, they get lazy and they can get stubborn. But, if you start treating your pets like they're human, they're going to treat you like you're a dog. Which is what happen to my two girls, Ripley and Riley a.k.a The Princess and MaMa. I found I was being pushed off the couch so they could be comfortable, I was also being "told" by them when they were going to eat and they demanded to go out.  Henceforth came my solution.  I became a certified dog trainer and now everyone knows exactly where their place is.

There are reasons for your dogs behavior and part of being a responsible dog owner is understanding that behavior and working with your dog to redirect it. 

Well, Hush Puppy NJ can help you understand what makes your dog act the way he does and we will work together to find a proactive solution to make your life and your dog's life much more enjoyable, together.  

I don't make promises of making your dog a perfect dog, heck, who wants a perfect dog, what fun would that be? But we can manage their problem behaviors that makes life unbearable sometimes.
